Sophie Le Pape was born on the Ivory Coast where she spent her childhood.
She recalls: “I feel privileged to have lived surrounded by such grace, beauty and warmth. If beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, then it must be everywhere and not just in Africa. In the people and in the culture of the Caribbean too, where I was lucky to live and work and which is for me a great source of inspiration. I have never considered myself as an artist. Living in the present is a gift, savouring and capturing the moment is a gift. But patience is the mother of achievement.”
