Dorothy Byrne is one of the longest-serving heads of commissioning in the television industry, whose news and current affairs programmes have won her numerous international Emmy, BAFTA, and RTS awards. She served as Head of News and Current Affairs at Channel 4 for 17 years, stepping down recently to become Editor at Large, and assume the role of President of Murray Edwards College, Cambridge, in late 2021.
Sarah is ambitious about revitalizing George Eliot’s image for a new generation of readers. She received the University of Oxford’s Knowledge Exchange Seed Fund in partnership with the George Eliot Fellowship in 2015-16 for the project ‘George Eliot’s England’. She is a co-founder of Humanities of the World, a public engagement project that aims to promote the value of the humanities.
