Hongsong Shao is senior lecturer at the Communications University of Zhejiang. He has previously translated such works as Noam Chomsky’s Manufacturing Consent: The Political Economy of the Mass Media. He conducted doctoral research at Coventry University in 2011-12, and has lectured widely in Northern Ireland on Chinese culture in his post as Chinese director of the Confucius Institute at Ulster University.
