Bill Emmott is a writer best known for his 13 years as Editor of The Economist (1993-2006), a publication he joined in 1980 and served in London, Brussels and Tokyo. He is currently chair of the International Institute for Strategic Studies, of the Japan Society of the UK, and of Trinity College Dublin’s research institute for arts & humanities. He has co-written and executive-produced two documentaries shown on BBC Four: Girlfriend in a Coma (2013), and The Great European Disaster Movie (2015).
