Sarah Donde is a Cape Town born artist and writer based in Glasgow. Known for playful and honest art relating to everyday moments and feelings. With a background in the legal industry, Sarah moved towards an artistic career in 2023 after leaving London. Finding beauty and humour in the mundane, and drawing attention to the things we tend to avoid talking about, Sarah is not scared of making art about big feelings and revels in the connection and comfort it brings.

Sarah studied law in South Africa and moved to London in 2020 with plans to pursue further legal studies and qualify as a lawyer. When COVID disrupted these plans, she found herself working in legal tech instead. By March 2023, she realised how disconnected she had become from what made her feel most alive. She quit her start-up job without a plan and began pouring everything she was feeling into art and writing, sharing it online. What started as an outlet became an unexpected pivot into the world of creativity—an alternative route for expressing the same desire for performing meaningful and impactful work that once drew her to law.

Her work is inspired not just by life but by the many places she has lived—including Amsterdam, London, and South Africa—and by the people and friendships formed along the way.
