Narissa Deokarran is a teacher in Guyana who blogs at loveoflogic.com.
She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Management from the University of Guyana… and has lived in Lusignan, a little village on the East Coast her entire life. She was never an outspoken person but after becoming personally affected by community problems ignored by the authorities and normalized by many, such as garbage burning, which was affecting her health, she began writing articles on these in the public sphere. Later her voice grew louder and more assertive which led to writing about other topics and starting a blog. Another issue which she feels strongly about is domestic violence. For many it is a way of life and something which is allowed to fester without being condemned. She never wants to become that person who accepts domestic violence as something normal. When she read about the death of Naipaul she embarked on a bit of online research to learn more about this great writer and felt sadness when she read about how he treated women and his unapologetic position.
Nevertheless she enjoys spending time with her pooch Lucy, travelling and attempting a few lines of poetry.
