Kenneth Ramchand is a graduate of Edinburgh University where he began his career as Lecturer in English. He served for ten years as an Independent Senator in the government of Trinidad and Tobago. He is Professor Emeritus of West Indian Literature, University of the West Indies, and Professor Emeritus of English, Colgate University, NY. He also served as President of the University of Trinidad and Tobago where, as Associate Provost, he established that university’s Academy for Arts, Letters, Culture and Public Affairs.
