Dr Antonio Castillo is a Latin American journalist and academic. He is the current director of the Centre for Communication, Politics and Culture at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia. Antonio is the managing editor of the Global Media Journal (GMJ). He is also part of the editorial committee of the Iberian and Latin American Studies Journal. His area of research is Latin American journalism, politics and culture. His article in “Investigative Journalism Today” looks at the way that Latin American investigative journalism has been revolutionised by the Peruvian muckraker Ojo Público (Public Eyes).
